Archway School
Winner of the "Best of Oakland" Award in 2008, Archway School is a small K-8 independent school with two campuses (K-4 in Oakland, and 5-8 in Berkeley). With a focus on Academics, Responsibility, Community, and Hands-On Learning; its mission is "to prepare learners for life."
Class sizes of 10-16 and enrollment of 120-130 allows for positive relationships with teachers, regular field trips and overnights, and an exceptional school experiences.
PE, Art, Music, Spanish, Drama, and Elective classes (in 5th-8th--such as Cooking, Clothing Design, Role-play Games, and Dance--complement a full academic schedule. High school counseling and an Advisory program support are integral parts of the middle school experience. Involved parent community.
